I've been to over half the US, and summer in Florida(at least my part of Florida) is the nicest. The downside is it stays warm almost year round. I refuse to go through the Carolinas in summer, just way to hot and muggy for me. Summertime highs where I am are normally in the low to mid 90's, not that triple digit crap I've experienced in the midwest. Yes we do have humidity in the 70-90% range, but there is almost always a breeze, and it really isn't that bad unless you lose the breeze(like I did Saturday feeshin).

I'll have to take your word for it Ferm. I've been to Disney World twice, once in May and once in July. It was unbearable both times. And don't forget that I used to live in St. Mary's, Ga, for two years which is right over the line from Jacksonville.... To me the humidity and the heat were stifling. Curious though.. New Jersey Summers are usually in the mid 70's - 80's Yes, we hit the 90's occasionally, but that's the exception rather than the rule. You must have hit it at the wrong time.

As for the tourist problem, I do feel for you. I used to live in Tom's River NJ and the major highways for travel to Seaside Beach and other resort towns goes right thru it. In the winter I could go to work in Lakewood in 20 minutes. In the summer coming home usually took me an hour, and that's using the back roads most locals know. It was so bad my wife bought a t-shirt that read "I live here, I'm not a tourist and I don't give directions". I'm sure that Capt. Pete can attest to how crazy the traffic gets during the summer. So I do feel bad for you guys. (And I'll try my best to stay away so I don't add to the problem).
