Why's that Ferm? I know advantages and disadvantages, just interested in hearing your opinion.

They raised the floors to go to self bailing liners instead of draining into the hull.

I don't remember the original post in detail. What rule was broken so that I can avoid that myself. Thanks.

I misunderstood you the 1st time I posted, thought you were asking about the changes in 86. I keep my boats on a trailer so corrosion isn't a huge issue, I like the added economy of them over conventional 2 strokes, the weight is furthur forward giving a better center of gravity, quieter running with the engine inside of the closed hull and an insulated engine box, and since I can work on them(somewhat) labor costs aren't a huge concern like to others.

My first V20 was an I/O. Had a 350 engine with a OMC outdrive with the ball gear coupling in it. Once I learned to weld hardface on the ball gear "fingers" to reduce the wear it was actually a pretty good system. Had to replace the tilt motor about every 2-3 years which, due to it's location was a pain, but other than that I loved the boat and everything that Ferm said about economy, ease of maintenance, etc. is true for the most part.

And I'm curious also. What rule was violated that removed the original post link?

There seems to be a lot of people that stumble onto this site list a boat or buy things that have a low post count. I always prefer to deal with people that have some posts to follow, helps to get a feel for how dealing with them will be. When I break that I seem to get burned.

I did not stumble apon the site, I have actually been reading posts for a while. Dad got me turned onto this site. I never posted because I didn't have a reason to, most topics have been covered.

So I could just spam 28 more posts to reach the minimum. =P

Did you have any luck selling your boat? I remember it from the initial post. Really a nice looking boat. If you respond, that will get you up to #3. Ha Ha. Good Luck.
