I recently heard about cleaning, deoxidizing then applying an oil to finish and rehydrate the surface and slow down the oxidation process. Actually heard motor oil...tried a large area on mine with mineral oil buffed out...WOW!

The guy I heard this from has been finishing his Whaler w/oil for 20+ years and the detail pictures are AWESOME...

An old guy rubbed an old plow truck at my job with ATF. He said that they used to do it all the time. Thing looked half decent for a little while.
