Not sure what hatch you are talking about without a picture. There are different versions of V20s
Is it it in the motor well? Probably an add on from prvious owner. If it can be screwed down then it should be. Open access ports in a motorwell are the #1 reason for small boats to sink at a dock.

sounds like "bilge cover" is not sealed....3m 4200 or some other sealant as suggested should do it, right?

He might have one of those plastic hatches in the splash well. If so be careful, they can sink you. someone posted a vid a few years back of a guy spearfishing with a go pro and swims back to the boat to find it listing hard and going down. Last fra,e was the coast guard chopper.

Bradford has it right.?it is a cover in the splashwell. The cover may be large enough to seal it then put a waterproof hatch in/on top of it.

Take that thing out and glass in the hole. If it ain't pretty it's at least better than she would look swamped or on the bottom.

Better yet I think I'm going to seal the lid with 5200 then cut out a hole and fit a water proof hatch in it. It will make the hole smaller but I think it will be big enough to get the batteries in and out. I'll post some pics before and after. Thanks for the help.
