Truthfully, although you can consider other manufacturers you'll never find another boat in the 20' size that performs as well as the V20. It is, arguably, the best hull design ever produced in that size.

I totally agree. Best 20' design ever!I spent a lot of time on my bro-in-laws cuddy digging grouper in Tampa Bay years ago.

That said, I still can't find a solid one and as stated having one repaired is too expensive. I'd like to do it myself but don't have the knowledge and probably not the patience either. As Ferm said I'll just have to up my budget and look for something built in this century which would unfortunately exclude the V20.

The DUSKY 203 is a nearly carbon copy of the V20 hull. So the basic hull design still lives on to this day.

That used to be called the 203, I guess they are counting the built in bracket as part of the length of the hull now.

I went to the Dusky website several months ago and realized the 227 is a V20 with a bracket. I was pumped until I clicked on "Build a Boat" and it starts with the bare hull and you go from there. Everything is an upcharge including fuel tank, steering wheel, and cleats. By the time you're done, it's serious $$$

Used ones can be found reasoneable since thay've built them since the early 80's.
