Not that familiar with suzuki's, but I'd confirm fire on all cylinders also. On a hose, you might not notice one cyl dropping out, but with a load it's very obvious.

As far as the sea drive, motor parts are the easy part, the hard parts to find are the bracket parts. I think I would look for a conventional bracket and a motor to pair it with before investing too much in a seadrive.
