mine were in pretty bad shape also. mostly cracks along the flange that screwed to the gunnells. i roughed up the backside with some 100 grit and laid down a 2 inch piece of fiberglass tape along the flange. after that set up, i used marine tex to fill in the exposed crackes on the front side.

the flange is so thin and the gunnell is also so i ran a piece of 1x2 pt pine around the inside of the opening in the cap. this gave the inserts some "meat" to hold to. works well, the boxes don't flex as much and has held up well.

If your not into mixed up batches of resin this stuff works great for small jobs.
However if you need a lot
of resin it's more cost effective to buy bulk and mix yourself.
