That's what I was thinking do you know it's 25 dollars for a mercury bulb prices are going crazy I hope that's the problem I will keep you informed thanks

I'm gonna disagree... they do go bad BUT the primer bulb is only there to prime the engine... the bulb is not supposed to keep the engine primed, tho it can do so and mask another problem....
if you never unhook the fuel line from the engine or run it out of gas you should never need to prime it... Find out why you are losing prime... bad fuel pump, slight leak/ deterioration/ loose clamps in/ on fuel line allowing air to be pulled in, etc
