Real nice set up, and appreciate your posting.

Except won't work with my bow slider cover......not enough space between that and the edge of the bow. Not willing to unsnap the cover because it would be a permanent removal and I like how the cover works.......

If doable, I'm thinking the kind that braces along the bow edge. Saw a pic of this type but maybe not practical as a custom design to fit my hull.

Nice set up..........I don't have the room to brace properly on the bow, so I'll likely forgo.

I'm checking out coating the chain with something.......maybe that new " rubber in a spray can crap".....

I don't anchor much, but as stated, when I do, the chain scratches the gel coat and I have to work to remove later.

Maybe look for a smoother stainless chain. It's what I use when I use a chain. One day I'll figure out the pic thing and show y'all my pulpit.

Geez man no.......don't go showing your pulpit in public !! :)

Stainless chain.....that's probably as good an idea as any, I'll see about that.

For fun yesterday I soaked the chain in On-Off stirred it up with a broom handle and rinsed till most all the rust was gone and thinking I'd paint it with the rubber stuff....but stainless may be the more realistic solution... provided it doesn't cost what I think it might.

On-off is not a rust remover. It will take off almost any petrochemical, but for rust removal you want to get stuff that's made for that purpose. Home Depot and Loews both carry stuff that you soak the item in overnight for most applications and when you hose it off your metal is completely rust free. (Second application required for some really heavy rust)..

BUT

Why go thru all the problem. Just buy a length of anchor chain with the plastic coating already on it from the manufacturer. I have a 6 foot length on my 12T Danforth, it's held up nicely for almost 10 years. White, no scratches, etc etc. I believe you can buy it in 3, 6, 9 and 12 foot lengths, and in varying chain thickness. I haven't priced it in a while, but I know it's out there. Not that expensive either... at least not when compared to stainless steel.
