If possible mount a hitch ball on your front bumper. Some boat yards mount them on pickup trucks to get a boat in some tight places!

my NEW Load Rite 3100 w/rollers and no brakes was $2K total in 2014.
If you make short trips like you say, it is perfect. You can save a couple hundred with bunks.

Thanks and yea I thought of that too but I want to keep it simple and not have to switch the tow vehicle around every time. But I have seen hitches on the front bet that works great.
