Monday 11-16... Great day!

Went solo straight down to Lavalette. Found a giant school of bunker away from the fleet. Snagged 3 bunker and got them out on circle hooks, 2 down and one flat line, as I was snagging a 4th bait a rod went off. 33" fish in the box. then released another 31" fish. (limit is 1 bass 28"to 43" and 1 over 43")
As I was coming back on that drift Capt Pete trolled by...

Fished bunker the whole day and had a relaxing time drifting along.Released 5 fish to 36" and broke off or dropped another five. Did not get a 43"er.
Trollers said they were slaying them but I'd rather get the excitement of having a live bait eaten, coming tight on it, and fighting it from a drifting boat.

Saw Capt Pete flying north and took some video. He was far away and the GoPro is superwide angle so I can't pull a good closeup out of it.

I agree. nothing like live lining, anchored or drifting, no fun in trolling, but to each his/her own.

WELL DONE!!!!!

Glad to see you had a very good day fishing. After all the hard work but almost every time we enjoy the reward.Only a boat owner could appreciate what it takes!!!!!!!!

That's a cool shot of my boat. Water flying everywhere. Next time I'll have to get a little closer. What a beautiful day. Good weather, good sea conditions, great fishing. So many boats out there that it looked like a weekend in July.

Talking

Here's a quick video of a great day of fishing.

Bunker so thick you could walk on them.

There were Humpback whales around but to far to show on video and I didn't want to chase them...

Capt Pete flying by really looks cool...

Monday 11/23 A little sloppy but took the ride to Seaside Hts. Found the same giant schools of bait that have been there but too windy for livelining. Decided to troll given the conditions. got 3 small bass and a handful of bluefish.

I went out this morning too. I ended up off island beach by the governor's mansion. I trolled up a few just barely keepers and one good one. 37". Took a good beating all the way back up the beach.

Talking Stick a fork in it...

Sat 11/28 Pulled the boat after fishing. Done for the season.

BEST day striper fishing all season!
Lost count...released everything.
All on live bunker at Ortley Beach. Several double and triple bites.
Most fish 30"-34" and a couple 40" fish
