I hear they're killing it in Steinhatchee this year and the nearby areas. Nice scallop! That is huge.

I wore my go pro rafting this year and put it on a ball cap fit very tight. When I dive, I always pull a hood over it. I've nearly lost it before.

I want to go so bad, but can't find a babysitter to help the wife watching our 2 boys for me to break away and go. With a colicky 2 month old, and a 2 year old with a SERIOUS attitude problem(who gets MANY attitude adjustements daily), it's more than I want to stick her with for a day. Maybe next year I'll be able to go. That and with my hip the last thing I want to happen is get in the water and my hip go out and be stuck trying to fight the current back to the boat. I'm waiting for the mackeral run to come back in full force as I think my 2 year old will ride in the boat for that one.

thanks aw, yea, i had it tight, but not hooked with a cord. i've seen where they have mask with the mount built right in the frame. great idea until your mask gets ripped off because you hit something with the go pro.

they could make them slightly positive, but i think they do it so they won't float
i gotta get a new one

ferm, you were typing as i was. you guys from crystal river to cedar key have had a great year, as far notrth as st marks. i have bad knees and the water actually helps as far as taking the weight off of them and getting a work out. i do know i sleep goood the night after going .

Figured I'd bump the John D. Macdonald/scallop thread with this pic. John D. and his wife running his T-Craft.

great shot, bradford. looks like reasearch to me. you can tell when u read that john d was a boat owner and had dealt with some of the little things that boating fun at times.

that was something i liked about randy wayne white's first 3 or 4 books. then they just kinda wandered too far for me.

not to do with boats, but have u read michael connelly? if not, try "Bloodwork" (has a trawler in it)

Thumbs up

I'll keep an eye out for Bloodwork Phat. Been shopping trawlers a little for later on in life. I have a few Randy Wayne Whites that I haven't read, have read the Heat Islands which was pretty good. Picked up OLD Randy Wayne White when he used the pen name Randy Striker which seem like its gonna be pretty awesome. It's part of the Mac Morgan series called The Deadlier Sex. Reading reviews on him it seems like you said the older stuff is better. Reading Islands in the Stream by Hemingway right now. Was published after his death, and a lot of reviews don't care for it, but if you're into boats, fishing, the Bahamas, or drinking back in the day it's awesome so far. I think a lot of reviewers just don't like Hemingway himself. Check out Hooked on Books next time you're in the Keys, they're in Islamorada.
