WELLCRAFT factory rigged them with 115's, so it is within the needed HP to push one. Mine had a 1.6L SEA-DRIVE which was a 115HP flywheel rated outboard, and it would push the V on plane, but definately felt underpowered. Cruised in the low 20's, and topped out in the mid to upper 20's.

I guess Bgreene advise is spot on. Take it for a test drive to see if we fine it acceptable. Our old V had a 200 on it and it was awesome. I really loved having all that power. The dingy on the Bertram has a 15 hp on a 8'10" RIB. It's scary fast. I can't really hold it wide open without it getting squirrel. But it is a sick kind of fun!
