On the local lake close to my house in Allen, Lake Lavon, we've gone from 13' below normal pool level in December and not being able to launch to now 8+ feet above normal pool level and now cannot launch either. In the first case the ramps were out of the water and now they are all under water. We're having serious flooding on all the lakes and rivers in this area.

We were going to spend the weekend at Cuttyhunk Island on the Bertram but between the wind and cold temps it just doesn't seem to be worth leaving the dock. Usually we head out with friends for a New England style clam boil.
Today doesn't look to bad. We might take the Wellcraft out for a ride.

The last couple of times I went out in the boat on Memorial Day weekend it was right scary. So I just worked around the house so I have free time later.

Happy Memorial Day!

Be safe down there, it looks to getting pretty serious.

Took NV out on the Suwannee. Spent some quality time swimming with the family on the sandbar on Sun. Spent a couple hours Monday pulled up in the lilly pads taking a siesta. The river was unusually quiet Monday, I was on a main artery behind hog island and only had a couple boats go past in about two hours. The fishing is less than stellar right now. I drowned a cricket and threw another off the hook, lost a third one in a tree, four or five died of starvation, I still had a 100 crickets at days end...Uncle went salt-water inshore and caught a trash can slam. Neighbors tried offshore, they were home early due to the strong winds..
Swimming was the sure bet, sandbar is minutes from the house. The Mercury 115 4stroke is an amazing little motor. I am liking it more and more.

BTW- My dad caught a catfish, GOOD KEEPER KIND, and a nice bluegill off the dock, he is doing great, rehabilitation progressing nicely.. This is the first holiday since last Easter dad wasn't in the hospital so we are so very thankful..

We did our annual Cape Hatteras trip. Got several dolphin but nothing like last year. We did get a ~27 lb bull on Sunday though. I owe the fishing section 2 reports as I am behind on my reporting!

The other trip was SC bottom fishing and we got a bunch of red porgy, bsb, grunts and vermillions. The freezer is shaping up!

Reports later.
