What is a good WIFI router?

Man, that's strange. I tested it several times in my house and wired was getting around 72MB with no packet losses. Spikes were up to 80MB and the lowest I saw was one 68MB reading. Never tested the wireless side since I don't run wireless, but you should have gotten much better results. I'm beginning to wonder if your cable company's system might have something to do with your problems?

The regular 2.4GHZ router from them is working fine for us now, but the dual band they origanally put in was a nightmare. I know my old LYKSYS ran at 40MB through the ethernet, but would only hit 15-16MB wireless(it ran at 17 when we were on 15MB service, but slowed to 16 on the 35). It's working now for the most part, but I do randomnly lose connection to it and have to manually disconnect and then conenct to get internet back.

Well, it lasted for exactly 1 month, and my router from the cable company died. I had been dragging my feet sending destroyers router back, and it ended up being a good thing. The cable company sent out a tech this time, and he came right out and said it's the cable company messing with the firmware to throttle wireless usage, when you compalin they will turn it back up for awhile, then a month later turn it back down. I told him about this router, he looked at it and said it was the same one they used to use, told me how to do a factory reset, and now it's working great. I'm getting my full 40.1MB through the wired conenction, and 38-40 through the wireless on both bands. So destroyer, sorry about not getting it back to you sooner, but I ended up needing it to get my wireless back up. Momma wasn't happy when it throttled us down to 4MB's for our wireless, she couldn't watch FB videos, and sh!t got real, QUICK! (don't piss off a pregnant woman) It took me awhile to get my TV to link up to it, but it is a known issue with VIZIO and wireless N encryption, but I got it to work.

Happy it's working to you Ferm. That's the same kind that my cable company uses, and the type I have and I know they are good units.
