Man that's some beautiful work!

Since we're giving advice, I recommend ballasting to the point where it is slightly negative with shaft in and slightly buoyant with shaft out. As long as you have line attached the shaft will always keep the gun from floating away. Still good practice to put your arm through the band after firing though. Also the weight should go forward along the barrel. I didn't put enough weight up front and my spear tip tries to float up while I am lining up a shot. May be less of an issue with the shorter gun.

Heres my gun ready for action. I will shoot it a couple times togging in about a month before i put a finish on the teak. I want to make sure she performs as wanted.

I don't know anything about spear guns really, but that thing is pretty.

Awesome finished product! Great idea to use it before finishing... just in case it needs additional ballasting (mine did). I used the West Systems epoxy on mine and was very happy with the finish. Enjoy the gun... hope it gets lots of use!
