Her eyes are green. Trust me.

I don't think a 175 would be enough power for a 22/23 footer.

Good point Striper.
We have a 200 Yammie on our 23' Wellcraft and I wouldn't want anything less.

I personally don't think our 23' Wellcraft runs as good as the V 20 in the chop here in Buzzards Bay. It's not bad but I still feel like the V 20 is better.
The 23' Wellcraft has much more cabin space but no where near the cockpit space as a V 20.

A 23' hull that runs as good as V 20 might be a Regulator or Contender or SeaCraft/Potter? I don't believe Bertram made a 23" hull.

I personally am not a fan of twin hulls (cats). Having spent time on a 26' Glacier Bay a beam or rear quartering seas can get really scary.

I'm interested in hearing what others have to say.

If you want a V-20 on steroids, look at the DUSKY 233. It is 3 inches wider, 3 feet longer, and just looks to be alot bigger boat in comparison. Of course you coudl also look at teh DUSKY 256 which is 3 inches wider than the 233, and 2 feet longer, but is still simliar in design to the V-20 with a moderate dead rise, and a big bow flare going on up front. Also the newer WELLCRAFT 23 footers(not the 228 or 230, but I think it's the 233) is a soft riding boat and can be pushed by moderate HP.

I'm pretty happy with the ride of my 99 22WA. Not sure if this is the model hull Ferm was referring to. The LOA is actually 23'2". The hull is a bit different than a v20. My first boat was a V 18 and I loved the ride. I moved up to a 21 Striper WA and I never liked the way it rode, impulse buy due to the wife wanting a cabin.
