You and mama are good parents Ferm, Patrick is a lucky little man. I am sure he will be as well spoken as his father. Just poking a little fun, four is the proper age to begin to cuss and spit anyway.
Last weekend for scallops, all boats down. I got a firm invite on "Skegless" anytime but I am all but emaciated at 184 pounds. I got to get some of my strength back first. Besides soccer started last weekend and we have practice tonight and a game on Saturday. It will be this way for the next 8 months, give or take. I love it, all that cut grass. Just being outside and watching the kids do their best at futbol. That is a BRAND NEW PIECE OF AMERICANA right there BTW. We never had organized soccer when I was in school.

Thats great Ridge! Id give just about anything to be back out on the pitch again. I basically lost my right knee to the sport and deal with chronic back pain from all the slide tackles but Id go back and do it again even if they told me the pain would be twice as bad. Keep them in it! You never know how far it will take you.

I played for 13 years against all kinds of teams and one thing in particular sticks out. We played an International tourney down in FLA and played against some AMAZING teams. We lost all three of our games, one to the #1 team in FLA, then to Guatemala and then to Trinadad. We were all bummed out about gettin our A@#es handed to us until our coach pulled us aside from gettin on the bus and said, "Look....You're a bunch of kids and friends from a tiny island off the coast of Georgia. So you got your a@# beat- you competed with them didnt you? You gave em hell and thats all that matters...." That was where it sunk in. You just never know how far you can take the sport and there will always be a better team and players to improve yourself on. I guess my point is that if he's dedicated and passionate about it, encourage him to step it up and always compete against those who are better, more skilled and more disciplined than them. It wont take long for him/her to catch up to same level. Just two cents from a has-been, haha.......
