Cant fall down when they are at the bottom!
I have mine in trays on either side of the bilge pit. I run two bilge pumps, not sure there's room for 2 batteries. In very heavy seas I've had my boxes & straps come loose & found the batteries piled up in the bilge, not good. Hopefully I have it right this time.

Yeah, the more I look, the more I think trays and straps may be the way to go. Thanks everyone for the help.

If you go the tray route be advised the USCG Auxillary failed to give me a clean bill of health for not having a proper insulator over the terminals on my V-20. They want to see the little rubber boot, one of the men actually said a tennis ball cut to fit over the terminals would be OK. It is a good idea so that you don't short across the terminals..

Use 2 boxes and bolt them down. There are numerous ways to do this. Good Luck
