There's a trip I wish I could afford... I do go to Lake Gananoque Ontario every June for Northern.

That ling looks like a skinny grouper. Probably fish them the same way too. Big hook, big sinker, big chunk of baitfish and drop to the bottom.

the Halibut fishing was great as usual that nice one I caught pulled pretty good for his size.
As for the lings Spoggy you hit the nail right on the head big ugly hook down deep jig lots but we don't bother with bait for them they are a very aggressive striking fish. I think they will strike a hook just on territorial instinct. They pull a guys arms pretty good as well. the trip was cheep in trip terms it cost the three of us about 1000$ each for a week on the coast. That covered gas for the boat, hotel, food and diesel for the truck not to bad really.(O yea and Beer!)
