Our State recreational/commercial "food" shrimp season does coincide with each other.
Any time after May 15 the commissioner "may" open the season, this year it was June 10. I was wondering if the black gill was in the gulf, we've had it for several years.

I guess "black gill" isn't here because that's the first I've heard of it. But if it's in the Atlantic, it's probably just a matter of time.
Our Shrimp season works about the same, they test shrimp until they get a 68 count average & then open it shortly, usually right around the first week of June.
