John, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss and your friends passing. He sounds like one of those rare souls that just makes you smile whenever you meet him.

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like he was a great fella and was lucky to have you and your family in his life. I don't think you ever get over the loss of someone like Poppy. My Dad passed 34 years ago and I still miss him a lot. I guess we just have to think of them in a better place with on pain. It seems to get a little better with time. Praying for you and your family.

Sounds like we lost one of the rare ones that keep getting more and more scarce.
Remember that he touched many lives that will be forever changed for knowing him. In that way, he will continue to live on through those he loved. You're fortunate to have known him and to have him to help you across later when it's your time.

My condolences on your families great loss, two weeks ago we laid my Mom to rest, age 86. That generation of people, your Poppy, my Mom were incredible human beings.
