If you want to buy yourself a few years on it for cheap. Remove the engine, drill some 1/4" holes in it all the way down through the wood(not through the glass) about every 2-3 inches, and fill it with kwik-poly. I've used this stuff before, and it will turn that rotted wood into some solid stuff. it is a penetrating polyurathane epoxy. The rotted wood will basically act as a filler for the epoxy to thicken it and reduce the required amount. And if your current boa is in good shape except for the transom, then I would fix it. There are to many rotted boats out there being pawned off as good to roll the dice IMO.
