You're on the right track w/fuel lines and all...I've never pulled one of these tanks, but have read enough accounts here of members who have to tell you it's a painful process...unless you are SURE you have to, let me suggest you pump the rest of the old fuel out, remove the sender unit from the top of the tank and use that opening to determine if you can get it clean enough using that opening or if you gotta go ahead w/tank removal...
