I've never minded smelling a French *****.

And yes, Avon actually works great.

Oh, and do NOT eat a banana for at least a day before going out. Your body emits some of the chemicals in a banana through your skin and blood and mosquitos love the taste. It's actually an attractant.

And, BTW, NJ mosquito's are tiny, but are rated ahead of most, and are some of the most savage of all varieties. You haven't lived until you've become a meal for a cloud (literally, a cloud) of them.

is anybody else as proud of their skeeters as destroyer is?? never knew crc made bug spray. great idea randle. I understand acid is also good for keeping bugs away. only downside is you die when you put it on. I heard the avon stuff was good and I don't give a sh!t what I smell like as long as it works.

In my former life as a field archaeologist in Florida and South Carolina DEEP in the woods we found that if it didnt have DEET in it, it wasnt worth crap. Sorry but the only thing "skin so soft" did was leave the mosquitos smelling like french *****s after they bit you.

Until we moved last year, we lived right across the street from the river. The little bastards swarmed about 2 weeks after any rainfall or flooding. Made it impossible to go out without some kind of protection. Avon worked fine, and was a lot safer than covering yourself with some chemicals. But for the last few years we lived there, the Off device was the repellent of choice. They do work really well. No device is perfect 100% all of the time, but the Off unit makes the occasional bite tolerable. My wife is very susceptible to mosquito bites, and she refused to go outside without the Off unit on her belt. Just make sure you have a spare refill or two handy, as well as extra batteries.

And no, I'm not proud of NJ having some of the worse mosquitoes around. Just pointed it out as a way of establishing credentials. Personally I wish every last one of those bloodsucking things died tomorrow.

X2 on the THERMACELL!!!! I use it exclusively during Deer and Turkey season. I like that it works like a champ and I dont have to stink of spray all day.

I used to use a product called Florida Swamp. Think it was 35-40% and STRONG. It would burn the mess outta your back but man it worked. They took it off the market though after some kid died, I mean, I feel bad and all but dude you just ruined it for all of us!!!
