What's your winter " to do" list for the V ?

You're gonna love the 200hp!
Our V had a 200hp Yamaha and it was so much fun.
It wasn't as fast as the boat with Merc's but I think I got about 47 mph wot with the bottom clean and a lite load.

Even my wife enjoy the speed!


You guys are on the north shore shouldn't get to much snow from the system coming through Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. South shore and the Cape.........get your shovels ready!

Grey, I hope you don't get boarded and checked with that head system, if you aren't offshore, with out a lock on it, it will cost you big $$$$$. You need to install a holding tank if you are running inshore or on any fresh water, your overboard discharge needs to be locked out or removed if in fresh

Yep. It's stupid, but if you put a padlock and hasp on the hatch above the head you should be fine, but if it's open you can get a huge fine from the man. The law just says locked out. It doesn't specify how....

My old John Allmand had a system like yours. I got boarded by the Coast Guard for a routine courtesy inspection. Fortunately, I had a plastic bag (that we never used) lining the inside bowl of the toilet. Since anyone taking a dump into the plastic bag complied with the law about not discharging over the side they had to let me go... but they gave me a stern warning that they were being nice and that I really needed a holding tank. Soon after that I installed a Porta potty. I figured the $69 cost was a lot less than the $500 fine I was quoted.

PS, I live near NYC. On any given day the East River discharges tens of thousands of gallons of RAW sewage into the ocean... but that's ok... but the little 2 quarts of sewage you might dump in will make the entire world polluted. Pretty amazing....

Use a real lock.. Just keep the key someplace on the boat....

We have a foot on the ground already, and it's still snowing.. Supposed to stop in about 4 hours... <sigh> My boats are covered.. Not working on them for a long time.
