			I like a good top end when I can get it...but mid range cruising speed EFFICIENCY is where it's at for me...over the life of that motor, it can add up to a substantial $$ number...and probably easier on the motor itself...

	Nearly all of my boating is cruising 3,000 - 4,000 rpm range, besides trolling. To me, setting it up to run close to maximum possible speed is also RELATED to efficiency - to a degree, it means it's dragging the least amount - therefore long term easiest on the motor. Viper prop - my understanding is the Viper runs better with the DFI motor, but the etec better with the Rebel. Reason - the etec produces more torque, and the Rebel is a bigger cupped prop.  |
