I had mounted a folding mast step on the bulkhead just to the right of the cuddy door on the '89 I used to have. Found it to be very usefull. Thinking doing the same on the '95 I have now. Thought I had a picture, but can't find it :(

glad to know i am not the only one to have this problem. i thought somebody had a set up with a bottom piece of a stepladder that slid up under the cuddy when not in use, then pulled out like a drawer and hinged down when needed.

You are right. There was a guy that had a removable wooden step ladder. He posted some pics and it looked really nice. He even explained how he made it. It clipped into the top and was at a slight angle. Made of teak, I think.

I think this is the thread you are talking about, it's amazing what you can find with a search

That's my boat and the ladder works very well. My old knees aren't what they use to be and it makes getting onto the bow alot easier.

buy a $3000 hard top. then you can swing into the cockpit from the bow!
![]() well, doesn't help much getting up there though. I just put in new starboard deck lids and it really got a lot easier than stepping on a pile of life jackets, a fender, and cutting board...covered with a landing net

I saw that thread, that's what gave me the idea that I'm working on now. He had leftover boat steps & guess what? I do too.
Hedge, two things, no steel on bubba's boat, I hate rust. The other thing, I'm big, about 275, but I've been bigger than that & I jump all over that cuddy roof throwing a cast net, it gives a bit but it's tough. I'm still in a hardware bind but I live in the right place & I'll work it out. I'm adding pics of what I'm working with, & what the previous owner had. Doug

Here's what I built a few years back, two covers, cypress & stainless, can fit three buckets (4gallon) under there!
