I know the father has suffered an unthinkable loss...but when he returns, they need to take a real herd look into this guy's life...those boys may have been influenced...

There is a renowned sociologist named Dr. Morris Massey.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morris_Massey

He released a series of tapes that helps define who we, as a human species, are, and why we do the things we do. In them, one of his tenents is that who we are, what we will become in our lifetimes, is implanted into our minds by the time we are 3 years old. And that we continue to be trained by our surroundings up to around the age of 7.

He described three major periods during which values are developed:

"1. The Imprint Period. Up to the age of seven, we are like sponges, absorbing everything around us and accepting much of it as true, especially when it comes from our parents. The confusion and blind belief of this period can also lead to the early formation of trauma and other deep problems. The critical thing here is to learn a sense of right and wrong, good and bad. This is a human construction which we nevertheless often assume would exist even if we were not here (which is an indication of how deeply imprinted it has become).
2. The Modeling Period. Between the ages of eight and thirteen, we copy people, often our parents, but also other people. Rather than blind acceptance, we are trying on things like a suit of clothes, to see how they feel. We may be much impressed with religion or our teachers. You may remember being particularly influenced by junior school teachers who seemed so knowledgeable***8212;maybe even more so than your parents.
3. The Socialization Period. Between 13 and 21, we are very largely influenced by our peers. As we develop as individuals and look for ways to get away from the earlier programming, we naturally turn to people who seem more like us. Other influences at these ages include the media, especially those parts which seem to resonate with the values of our peer groups."

So (for example) if your parents are bigots, and you observe them being bigots, then you too will probably become a bigot in your adult life. This holds true for just about every emotion that you may think you developed on your own. Most of them are implanted by your parents.

In the case of these two idiots, it is said that they came to America early in their life. The youngest was 9 I believe, and his elder brother was 14. So that was plenty of time for radical thoughts to have been implanted into and reinforced in their minds by their father and their surroundings.

Please understand me, I am not condoning what they did in the least, I'm meerly commenting on the fact that they probably got most of their radical ideas from their father, long before they came to this country.... and listening to his comments, I think it's obvious that he's a muslem radical, so it's natural that his children should be also.

Reel hit the nail right on the proverbial head. I think they were influnced by their father long before they came here. Although I feel sorry for him, because of the loss of his son and the upcoming trail and probable execution of his other son, he has no one to blame but himself.

(Interesting fact.... Massachusetts has no death penality, so if he is tried locally he'll get life... but if they try him Federally, he'll probably wind up like Tim McVeigh with lethal injection)

To try and understand behavior does not condone it...Thanks Destroyer...your post is a good explanation of what may have gone wrong here...not only parental influence, but these kids grew up prior to coming to the states in an environment filled w/killing...then the young one was heavily influenced bu the older brother...we do not grow up automatically knowing the difference between right and wrong...I think there needs to begin a compilation of understanding what precipitates this kind of behavior so we can recognize it early and become PROACTIVE instead of REACTIVE...as the population grows (which is another discussion), it may become necessary to get ahead of some of this bad behavior...or sit back and do nothing and allow it to become a part of the population control...
