Destroyer is right on. Accomplish small goals at a time. I almost gave up on my rebuild when I discovered gel coat blisters. But I wont let it get the best of me. Right now I am removing the rest of the bottom paint. Just seeing my hull mostly white for the first time got me motivated. Dont be afraid to spend some time on it! I wanted to get mine up and going asap. I decided to buy a yak and fish it then I can take my time on the rebuild and not worry so much about it! Definitely get a 25" motor. Replace the fuel tank but do not foam it in! Do a google search on aluminum fuel tank instalation. I cant link from my phone but there is a website that shows the best way to installed a fuel tank using 5200 and strips of Starboard.

Jason,

I googled this, and I found a wide mix of reviews.

why no foam on the tank? I would think that it would hold the tank more securely than just 5200. I can understand the starboard over the wood spacers that is a no brainer. Is it simply the condensation?

I figure the existing tank lasted 30 years....

So as I was grinding and sanding today, I got to thinking. I am planning on cutting the existing stringer glass to about 1 inch off the hull glass and replacing all the stringers w new plywood. Do I need to worry about the hull flexing and moving? What is the best way to support the boat? It is on the trailer now.

I canceled my west system order and ordered us composites. Thanks. It is a1/3 less.
