So I really liked the look and function of draglinks sprayshield on the "natural light" boat I saw pictures of. So I made one today for my console. I also milled some starboard trim for my console opening.

Well I've come up with another backyard scrap wood idea. I wanted a leaning post behind the console but don't feel like paying the big money for one and then I would lose lots of storage area. So I took my old bench seat and have built a 12 inch tall box on top of it, and by cutting a large lipped hole on the back side I can keep life jackets in the bottom of the bench seat and make a starboard covering board that will be bottom of my upper opened storage area. I will incorporate 4 or 6 rod holders in the back ( black magic marker pictured) and right below the rod holders on the back will be that upper tackle storage(black magic marker drawn on the back). I will then get my buddy to make me a low profile pad for the front. I keep my same foot print of the cockpit with added storage. And like Emeril would say "BAM"!!!!!!!

I like the ingenuity there Kracker. That will look nice when done. Heck I just realised that I can start building my console and leaning post if I go ahead and shorten my cuddy and get it glassed.

Well here she is fellas. I improved my storage added a leaning post and a rocket launcher all in one piece. All I needed to do now is glass her up. As you can see I made the hole big enough to were I can remove and acess the lower storage and still have upper storage for tackle and knick knacks.

Here's laila grey doing her thing!!!! She said "daddy I can't wait till we paint this boat, because I'm really good at coloring and painting" lol!!!!! Im gonna let her paint something under the console with some acrylic.

I glassed up my spray shield on my console today. Tomorrow I will glass on my box on my bench seat. But here is my basic foot print of the console and leaning post.

I put 2 layers of CSM on those under the cap acesses for my lighting.

I also glued and screwed and glassed my bow arch in today. I will be glueing my cap ply on tomorrow. I'm getting very excited at this point. Everything seems to be coming together as planned.

Here's the inside view. Ran the 1708 14 inches past each joint on either side.

Here's a view under the cap showing the Chase holes that's gonna be used to run my 16 ft strip lighting and future wiring. The inside corners under the cap will simply tabbed in with a strip of 1.5 CSM.
