Locks and cameras would not have done any good in this case or any case such as this. The kid was packing a bushmaster in a .223. He came thru the glass door with gunshots.

I'm defending the existing gun laws at every turn these days...what I want to see is greater SECURITY in our public schools. While the Gun Control debate has dragged out for 40 years, it has only proven to be a distraction from an issue there should be no argument about...shore up the schools our children spend their days in...no brainer...we have armed Air Marshals on planes...why not in schools?...We spend more money on protecting our money than we do protecting our children. In our defense, time was we didn't HAVE TO...clearly those days are past and if there is anything public funds need to be spent for, it's SECURING OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS...

Reel, I couldn't agree with you more. As I said previously, armed teachers and security locks are just suggestions. An armed guard(s) would certainly be a good thing also. But the point is, if a person really wants to do harm, he will be able to. The Oklahoma bombing points out that guns, armed security, and locked doors won't stop someone bent on doing evil. Ditto with the World Trade Center, No guns were used in either of those attacks, yet thousands of people died anyways. So, unfortunately, there will always be incidents like this. But if we can minimise them..... if we can save just one childs life...then all the money it will cost will be worth it. And if we stop giving "aid" to foreign countries that hate us anyways, and use that money for guards for our own children, then by God, I'm all for it!!!

Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly.

Silence, in the face of evil, is itself evil. Not to speak is to speak, not to act is to act. God will not hold us guiltless.
