your survey should have an appraised value, the insurance company was provided a copy of the survey, don't settle for less than whats stated on the survey. IF they want to argue about it, look on line, pick the 5 most expensive 28 Bertrams you can find with similar equipment and age, print them out and have them ready. When you get your check, head down here and I'll pick out a nice one for you!

What he said, also ask what the buy back is as the 28 has quite the cult following and I'm sure somebody will want to restore that girl and get her back on the water. If the engines weren't damaged it may be worth saving them and buy a 28 in need of repower for under $10K, and drop your power in it and be back on the water in no time. And if your looking for a 28, they are PLENTIFUL down here in Fl.

I like Ferm's repower option...provided right hull and your motors check out...
