Kinda nice to out run a squall in open water... I was contemplating a sea drive & a single 300 on mine... But there I go thinking again.....

Great job once again just got thru the whole thing.... almost...

Edit: I see you sold off the other Rude' But you got the Dual controls.
UL I thought about doing a seadrive in the beginning but decided not to due to the guys on this forum. The added "dead weight" and lack of accesible parts steered me away. With the experience and confidence I have gained from being apart of this forum I'm not scared to do a bracket in the next couple years. But for now I'm gonna stick with my single 135 and a traditional outboard setup. By the way welcome to the forum!! These guys on here are awesome and will give you a wealth of knowledge. There truelly are no stupid questions on this forum, just ask and somebody will help.co

Thanks KJ with your skilled work I figured just grab a micro
lam beam and have one fabbed up in a few days.

So what is the difference in a bracket vs. A sea drive. It was back in the 90.s since I was out on my buddies 25 Dusky. He had 2 Black Max 225's on what I thought was a sea drive. Might have been a bracket. Either way it flew in the back country down in the Keys.

The extra couple feet back there made a big difference out off shore.
Made a nice swim platform for snorkeling, good to keep everything out back and out of the way.

Thanks for the welcome.

Let's see what your ideas are for a bracket. I found a Black Max up here for a bracket. I had thought you still had the twin 135s . For as heavy a boat a 135 better suited for a 17' Checkmate. JMHO.

Check my photo bucket for a video of a 64 Tempest with a 600hp 383 stroked we built. I will get a link. Up in Caseville on lake Huron.
Wish I had the V up here with me. Just picked up a 69 Mach I.

UL - the above picture is a 'Stainless Marine' bracket on a V.

A Sea Drive was built by OMC for a few years. It has the "bracket" built into the lower part of the motor

Union, there's a lot of DO IT YOURSELF paints out there. The sides of my outer hull are gonna be Interlux perfection in a fighting lady yellow color, my bottom is gonna be a interlux VC performance EPOXY, My inner hull I'm tossed up on but I'm leaning towards rolled on gellcoat, giving the boat a work boat finish inside. I have 2 gallons of interlux epoxy primer already. I'm working on the boat Saturday and Sunday I have been working 70 hour weeks lately so I've been kinda busy at work.

Finally working on the boat today. I really wanted to go fishing, the puppy drum are snapping right now. I set and glued the last part of my inner rail today and I'm gonna glassind them up tommorow. Next will be glueing and setting the top cap and then glassing over the whole cap to rail structure. Im really looking forward to fairing and slicking her up.
