A 243 is THE gun great for recoil sensative pepole. I roll and shoot a 80 grain hornady GMX's out of mine. I killed 3 cow elk last fall one head shot two lung shot's. Have you tried a .243 WSSM yet? Tad more kick than a normal .243 but it packs some serious knockdown. I have the A-Bolt varmint stalker with a bull barrel. With a Leupold Vx-L scope I can shoot 600yds easy. Overall its a fun to shoot rifle. Especially when i do not have a sore shoulder after shooting.

I was looking at them last year when I picked up my 243 Winchester featherlite. I have heard the WSSM's burn the barrle's out fast so I steared clear of them. I got all my rifles pretty much sloted for caliber/bullet weight/Distance/Knock down power
