I think you are right about it not being the XS, just the cowl is the XS. For a 03 250 XS I gave $6k, a little over twice the asking price and it was a 450 hour running motor that needed nothing. If the lower misc. parts and pieces and the midsection were in great shape $2500 would be about right for all if not a little high. Then again a new Merc lower is downright Pricey if purchased new from a dealer. The fuel mileage on a Optimax is unrivaled.

Thanks Ridge. Eventually my V20 will get an Optimax. With all the good things said about the XS, when it does get an Opti It will be an Optimax XS. But for now the 2.5 will do everything I want it to do. I was hoping to have the V in the garage by now with the cap off for the bracket build. But with work school and the storm things have been going slow. Should have the backend of the V off the trailer this weekend to finish stripping bottom paint if I dont have to work. My goal is to have it up and running when the sheephead start biting at the jetties next year.
