Great post and pics. I've not been to the upper portion of the Parkway, so it was good to see. If you ever come farther down, into NC and past Asheville you'll come into the Pisgah National Forest, and there is a wonderful place called the Pisgah Inn right on the Parkway. Every room has a view, and their restaurant serves all day. Great hiking trails. They book up early.

Excellent report!
Thats where I grew up...about 3 miles from the BRP near Craggy Gardens.

Looks like a great trip....Glad you got to see NJ on the way back. When you were telling me what roads you were on last weekend it wasnt registering but now I know where you were. And same as Willy at one point you probably less than 10 miles from my house so we better get a call next time.
