Seachoice makes an affordable outrigger kit. They can be bought new for around $125.00.

For occasional trolling they seem to be the right choice. I was going to put them on my boat as I only troll few times a year.

Be careful buying cheap fiberglass riggers, make sure you adjust your release clips right because you will fold em in half . Roller trollers are the best clips I've ever used. I have a pair of fiberglass outriggers for free if someone wants them. I have aftco 14 filters going on my v20 and 18 footers on the albemarle

while on this subject, what do yall think is the max ourigger length that can be run on a v? I was planning to make some outrigger that attach to the side of the arch and swing down and out like the big boats.

i used to fish with a guy who never used clips on his outriggers, he used big rubber bands, swore by them. we were king fishing with flat line cigar minnows . i don't think it would work on a big kona head.

2 clips are ideal. They would then be a long rigger and a short rigger.

Phat, I fished the roller trollers on a flat line for years. Only in the past 2 years have I fished rubber bands on flatlines. Sounds like a great idea for riggers also. I always liked the idea of the stainless roller on those clips because fatigue does catch up with you on the mono especially if your like me, I count my free spool back to the spread and fish the same distance everytime and the wire style just makes me nervous after trolling a ballyhoo for long periods of time trip after trip. Or maybe I'm just being petty!! Lol!!

Blue there not going anywhere there yours. Come up and fish for a couple days and stay at the house in the spare room instead of spending money on a hotel.

Holy cow Curapa, the Sea Choice outriggers seem like a good deal. Especially for a 15' rigger. Just looked them up. And found the complete set up for $100 www.foreandaftmarine.com/50-88251.htm
