Your leds look great! I do alot of striper fishing at night on the cheasapeake bay bridge tunnel. So its nice to have a set thats makes boating safer. under the gunnels like that reduces glare and the captain can see a little better.

There's a reason that all US Naval ships have only red lights on after sunset. It takes almost 20 minutes for the average persons eyes to adjust to the dark. (more as you grow older) As soon as you turn on any color other than red you loose your night vision and have to start over again. BarnagatV20 got it right. Red is the color you want if you're out at night. White and blue and all other colors may look cool but they hurt your night vision,... which is not cool.

Just out of curiosity, how to you feed power to these LED's? Is there any soldering involved or are they screw terminals?

Thanks for the ideas guys. The red LEDs sounds like the way to go. I'll get some pictures posted once I get them installed.
