I'm in my 3rd V and have always trashed the stock dash in order to flush mount the FF/GPS...here's the 1st one...a'74...compass on right side...

Hope this helps you out...

Hell yeah it does! You just made more work for me though. Now I gotta steal your new dash plan! Flush mount the garmin, organize the gauges and lose the $hitty black taped dash! Thanks???

Mine are mounted within 8" of each other. The GPS does pull it a few degrees off when I turn on the GPS but it functions like a regular compass only difference is I would hit Spain if I were heading for England.

New dash idea officially STOLEN! Just waiting on 2 new temp gauges and a router to clean up the edges... its time for a brew.

My GPS/FF is right next to the compass. No Problem. East is wet and West is dry.
Don't imagine anyone on a V is using dead reckoning and plotting a course on a chart.
