That brings up an interesting point....why the hell did they stop making them? Was the invention of the eurotransom a killer? I don't think you can find a boat that is as versatile as what we have.

I ask myself that question too: Why did Wellcraft stop making a boat like this?

Some of the comparable boats on the market are the Carolina Classic boats and the Hunt 25' footers that look like v20/21s on steroids. But they are expensive. There has to be a market for this type of boat at a mid-range cost. Instead, Wellcraft makes a boat that looks like a bunch of what other companies offer. They had (have?) a market of people that liked boats like ours: classic styling, carolina flair, family/fishing friendly. They should offer a new V21 model, or better yet, a friggin V25.

Might be a little more than a Wellcraft, but damn that looks nice.

I agree, and at 7,000lbs, should provide a nice ride, assuming the hull's set up right.

Nope still have not opened up the fuel hatch. She's running good, no problems. Hatch is still solid so since it ain't broke....don't think I'm gonna fix it yet.

Hatches can be less than water tight..... not saying yours is.

With the deck floor fuel tank hatch, I sealed it for the fishing season using clear silicone.
This forms a nice barrier against water intrusion, but the silicone is also easy to remove.
Then at the end of last season, I opened it up to air out through the winter since my boat is weather proofed / covered over to keep inside dry.

The bilge hatch cover I don't bother with, because I open and close it frequently.
