I bought a new roller trailer this year and had the give a mechanic 125 dollars to adjust it cause i had the same problem you are having and the solution is that he brought the rollers very close together i mean there so close there almost touching but the boat centers it self and tyhe winch strap goes on straight so move the rollers together i have a 1978 steplift

Beleive me I did that--on these Cox trailers--I do not think they would work on any boat--I moved the rollers all over--per 3 different people who set up boat trailers. Bunk it!
