outboard are like a lawn mower, they create their own spark, when you turn the key off, you short out the ignition, by eliminating the harness, you are taking part of the stop circuit out of the ignition, eliminating the key switch, stop switch, grounded harness, etc...

All you had to do was ask I use CDI parts all the time, the old printed version lasted long enough, from now on I use the online version, i just print what part i need and take it with me. Don't sweat the grammar smoke, he knew what I meant, My crappy grammar and spelling is partly how I found this place

I wasn't trying to step on any toes... just figured that someone with a non magneto system might have trouble one day.....

BTW, the only reason my spelling looks good is because I have firefox with auto spell check....
