I doubt you will be getting anywhere close to double the HP...like Ferm said 150hp vs probably close to 140hp out of the Merc.
TowerOfPower Mercs were notorious for putting out more power that the sticker showed, at least in my experience.

How come there is a difference in horsepower over the years. Isn't it rated at the prop? Or are our hourses bigger now than they were in the late 80s.

The engine in the pic is of a late 70's engine which is flywheel rated. In 86 when the ywent to propshaft ratings, this same 200 went down to a 150 XP.
