Alright I gotta stand up and rep Goergia. I think its kinda the same with the shrimp. Any place that has good spartina is gonna have good oysters, excuse me, the best oysters.
As I sit here thinkin whether or not to kill myself for the time change next weekend, I remember.......Oysters are the ONLY good thing about winter

Must be those Louisiana oysters I've had that were not so good...I still ate a bushell of em, but not as good as the ones I get on the NC/SC coast.

Aw hell man...the only reason GA's got good oysters is cuz the little buggers get themselves caught on the way back to Charleston after partying in Atlanta!!...  I know this cuz I married a girl from GA...and she knows stuff...and she rarely ever lies to me...well hardly ever...aw shooooooot...

appalach oysters are very dependent on the level of the river feeding the bay. if georgia gets a lot of rain and they let the water loose, they loose their saltiness. the ones i had this weekend were not as salty as i like them. they were very plump & that is a good thing. i am not a big fan of la oysters. i know a lot of people eat them year round, but i like the water temp to be below 65*
