Default Gas - 4 stroke

Yes, I'm looking for a gas 4 stroke. Like the sound of the 15-20 hp. I'm also assuming that I will need a long shaft and hope that I can link it to the out drive for steering. Also thought about a trolling plate for the out drive but like the thought of and extra motor on board. I will remove one of the platforms to facilitate motor mount.

I use an "Easy-In" mounting bracket. That way I can use a short shaft engine since the mount allows me to raise and lower the Honda. And yes, I have it linked to my JohnnyRude main engine so that I can stear from the front of the boat. The only problem is that 4 stroke engines are heavier... make sure that whichever way you decide to go that the bracket you get is rated to safely handle the weight & hp of your kicker.

I'm using a 25" Yamaha 15hp with a 4 blade Solas 7" pitch prop for a kicker. It pushes the boat at hull speed (approx 7mph), and works great in a head sea or into the wind.
