What comes to my mind is the dredge hangin on the bottom and the bow goin' UP and the stern goin DOWN...WAY down...

It seems very high and top heavy, but it has to extend far behind the boat with an outboard. It appears to have a pulley on the port side near the front of that rig. He's probably sewed rings on the pocket to use a "lazy line". Once the doors clear the water you just pull the lazy line and just the pocket is lifted into the boat. It saves a lot of work by only letting the net out once and pulling it into the boat at the end of the day.
