thats doing pretty good.. (if numbers are correct!) Mine does about 35 WOT with 2ppl.. But my stern is heavy due to the NidaBond transom and 32 gal bait tank that sits in the old engine well. I also have a 85gal fuel tank, tower, swim step/bracket merc 175.

when We run in moderate seas, with the tabs down for comfort and cruise at 26mph with 3 ppl on.. at about 4150 rpm while between 9 - 10 gallon per hr..

That's cruising along ok for only 90 hp....... maybe drop down to a 70hp and see if that's better..........or maybe even a 55hp.

If those are your numbers they're great...you must be propped high...I've had two different 150s (1 2 stroke and 1 4 stroke) and I haven't seen 44 or 28 mph @ 3500...

Wish someone with a connection to Mercury could get their hands on the old "Boathouse Bulletins" from Lake X where they tested boat & motor combinations. The 1983 Mercury info for the Wellcraft V20 said 46 mph with their 150 V6 and a 19P prop, 20 gallons fuel, no gear and 2 persons onboard. I tried a 19P prop and went to 17P because real world is 72 gallons of fuel, ice chests and tackle. Mine did about 42 mph real world with a good load and 150 hp.
