Not sure how to do this. Its Megan, I live in Virginia. If I take this boat to the bone yard I have a trailer. Old enough to not have brakes?
Today I investigated how far up I would have to cut the stringerz. Alas I think too far. In front of the passenger seat maybe farther. Will cut out the last bit tomorrow. The cuddy is connected to the liner and married to the sides. I hinted to my son that someone might give us the same boat center consol. He said DO IT. He bought the first boat with money he had from a pony when he was littler. We wanted the money to stay in the entertainment catagorie. Today he was watching utube videos of striper fishing in RI. So far I have done everything I can with this boat. But as I have said from the beginning it has to be safe!
So far Sort of like the layers of on onion....

Megan, we have several folks on this site in Virginia. I bet some of them would help you get your existing boat off the trailer, get your trailer road ready, and you could go to New Orleans and back in a weekend. Pour some Arjay in the transom (you already know how to clean out the bad wood in a transom), get a motor, and you and your son will be out on the water before the summer ends.

Default Broken Hearted

Gave up when the sringer was bad all the way to the front. And in the 1972 that is under the cabin. Not good design. Keel also slightly rotten. Can't take it. Love the offer of help!!! Still want a cuddy for the ocean. Now I am so bumbed by the design of emptying into the bildge I have, I hate to say it, been looking at Grady Whites. $9000 range. If you know of any killer deals I may swing back. But the NADA book value has to be consistant with $9000. Hope not to PO anybody Still love the look of the V. I am probably taken her to the bone yard tomorrow as I need to bring the project to closure.

failed,
Megan

just curious as to what your reasons are for wanting a cuddy? if your not going to leave the boat in the water, or just plan on fishing the rivers, then the cuddy isnt much benefit on the chesapeake.
