I am assuming from you current trailer and the other one you are looking at this is also a dual axle, if not disregard the rest of my post.
What I am reading is the GAWR, gross (maximum) axle weight rating is 3750, but below that is 3100 for each axles carrying capacity so therefore, I read it to say it should safely carry up to 6200lbs I may be wrong, I was one other time.

I think the smaller trailer would be ok for very short hauls (and smooth roads) but for any distance trailering I would definitely want the higher rated trailer.

I see a GVWR of 3570 on that tag...that indicates to me that trailer isn't stout enough to carry a V20 as that number is INCLUSIVE OF THE TRAILER'S WEIGHT...

Guys thanks for all the input. As luck has it, the 3100 pound trailer sold today so the search is still on. If all else fails I will take the trailer the boat is sitting on at the repair shop. If any one in the Conn, Mass or RI area is aware of any deals for a trailer in the 6- 800 dollar range that would be good with my V please let me know.... Thanks again..

I'm almost in the same boat......I mean trailer.....
Could sink $ 1,000 + into the one that came with my V but I won't. Had all four bearings and lights re done so it's good to roll. Finding that most used trailers are for sale because they're shot.......and people are asking a lot of money for em' too....... I'm going to use mine this season..then re think it next year. |

I feel your pain... I did all four hubs and bearings plus springs and lights.. thought i was good for the year but Murphys Law hit me and one of the new bearings went and broke the hub plus gouged the spindle on my axel... Im fed up and need to find a trailer.. Wish I could pull the trigger on a new one but looks like I will be stuck with a used one and someone elses problem... Time for a drink...

I found a NICE aluminum tandem at Sunset...guy got a new boat, took it to the lift...anytime it needs work, his dealer will come get it, so he's sellin this trailer...asking $2000...could probably get it somewhat less...has no title...SC doesn't require registration of trailers so it'd be perfect here...
Hey bgreene...it's MINT!!...lol!! LEDK9...spend some time and money on the one you have...might be the best way to go...at least you KNOW what you got...just don't put Chinese bearings on it...

I'd fix the one you have already. I just spent about a grand on mine last year with new axles, springs, bearings, bunk brackets, a couple tires, and a keel roller. It's good to know what you have is good top notch stuff.
